How does PacificSport integrate Physical Literacy in their programs/initiatives?

PLay Skills Summer Camps

P.L.a.y. Skills (“Physical Literacy and You” Skills) day camps are designed by PacificSport staff to work on the exposure and development of fundamental movement skills (FMS). These skills are the building blocks of movement, and are crucial to Physical Literacy. PLay Skills camps have an ABC’S focus: Agility, Balance, Coordination, and Speed.

Other Fundamental Movements Skills include:

  • Running
  • Jumping
  • Throwing and catching
  • Agility
  • Kicking
  • Etc.

All these skills are integrated into lesson plans and games by the PacificSport staff who are trained in coaching Fundamental Movement Skills. Kids are given the chance to engage and explore the different activities that introduces them to active living and sport fundamentals.
